Exceptional parents make exceptional puppies! Our sires and dams are determined to be excellent contenders for breeding based OFA and PennHip testing in addition to genetic testing for deleterious diseases and Coefficient of Inbreeding studies to determine the degree of relatedness of each litter. Meet our Council House Golden family!
Lake Country Zachariah
Strength and Beauty
Zach was a beauty from the day he arrived on the homestead but his temperament, although sweet and fun loving, didn’t exemplify strength. He was such a tender little pup and seemed to be afraid of his own shadow. The Golden Retriever breed standard says that this dog is self-confident so I watched and waited and gave him time to adjust to an already bustling home of English Cream Golden Retrievers.
Sir William of Council House
The Cornerstone
The foundation of a structure determines the strength of the entire building, bears the weight of that structure and establishes the integrity of all that follows. We are pleased to introduce William, the cornerstone of Council House Goldens and the boy who brings so much to our breeding structure. William means “resolute protector” and our boy remains true to his namesake.
Council House Gabriel
The Devoted One
This boy is loyal, obedient and athletic with a creamy white coat that is so beautiful. All of the dogs must learn the “come” command beginning on their first day in our home and Gabriel was no exception…. he just has always come with far more enthusiasm than the rest! We love this happy, good natured boy that has surprised us with his talent for intentionally opening doors!
Willowcross Christmas Promise Havalah
Meet our Willowcross Christmas Promise Havalah that has come to grace our homestead from our dear friend and remarkable breeder, Nancy Ziegler. Hava is our stunning winter white lady that is a sweet, gentle soul with the gift of bringing joy wherever she goes.
Irish Magic Black Eye Betty
When Council House Goldens receives a specific request from a family for a puppy that will be trained for service work for an elderly family member with Alzheimers or a special needs child with Autism, a puppy from Star and William is at the top of the list. Star is so solid emotionally, so kind and responsive, dependable and obedient. She’s what I call “proven”. A daughter from Star and William is now serving a veteran with PTSD and she has left an indelible mark on those that trained her for service.
Council House Josephine
Our very own girl from Havalah and William! Josie is quiet and steady, devoted and brilliant with a touch of mischievousness in her eyes! She’s the girl that would never think of chasing our goats or my sons milk cow but instead will sit at an appropriate distance and watch… and wait… and watch. When we are done with our goat or cow chores she’s ready to follow us back to the house. Lovely Josie is both elegant and playful and delights in being where you are. Oh, and she is our resident huntress!
Willowcross Blue Bonett Rebecca
Pretty girl Becca! She’s a bundle of fun and sweetness coupled with a desire to please that is such a joy in a dog! This girl “prances” like a Tennessee Walking Horse and, like her father Lewis, must have something, anything in her mouth!
